Jane and Ted Washburn founded Barrington Corporate Townhomes in 1993. The Washburns had been investing in real estate since 1980. After relocating to the Barrington area from California in 1991 they saw a need for temporary furnished housing in the Barrington area. The need was discovered after looking for temporary housing for their family while they were waiting to move into their home. Capitalizing on their experience of owning and managing apartments in Palo Alto, California, they purchased the first Barrington Corporate Townhomes properties at 640 and 642 South Hough Street and 312-318 S. Glendale Avenue in Barrington. Their goals were to: - Provide quality temporary housing in Barrington. Relocations can be difficult for families - change of employment, finding new friends, schools, homes, doctors and more. It is most helpful for relocating families to live in the area where they will buy a home (especially to live in the Barrington School District 220). The Barrington area is conveniently located near Motorola, Sears, G.E., PepsiCo and many more employers. Barrington is also a stop of the Metra train line for easy commutes to Chicago. - Provide comfortable, nicely furnished/accessorized, and immaculately maintained residences. After their experience living in temporary housing, they knew they could do it better. All of our temporary residences look like "home" not a hotel room or a sterile apartment. All properties are generously equipped. You will find plenty of everything, whether it is towels, wine glasses, pillows, blankets or dishes.
